The Aim Of This Book Is To Present Mathematics Not Only As A Cumulative , Self- Correcting Discipline, But Also As A Truly Liberal Art, As It Was Once Seen To Be. Al Though Mathematics Can Hardly Be Counted Among The Humanities, Since It Lacks The Element Of Moral Concern, At Least It Is Possible To Humanize Mathematics Education.
